The NIH Training Center is pleased
to announce new classes on

Competencies and on Microsoft Office 2003!

The following Competency classes are currently being offered:

  • Coaching Employees for Developmental Competencies (Course 5802)
  • Behavioral Based-Interviewing (Course 5803)
  • Competency Training for Employees and Supervisors (Course 5337)

The following computer courses are currently being offered:

  • Introduction to Microsoft Excel 2003 (Course 5331)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel 2003 (Course 5332)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel 2003 (Course 5340)

  • Introduction to Microsoft Word 2003 (Course 5330)
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word 2003 (Course 4545)
  • Advanced Microsoft Word 2003 (Course 4543)

  • Introduction to Microsoft Project 2003 (Course 5335)
  • Advanced Microsoft Project 2003 (Course 4544)

  • Introduction to Microsoft Outlook 2003 (Course 5333)
  • Intermediate to Microsoft Outlook 2003 (Course 5334)

The competency courses are designed for NIH employees and supervisors in administrative occupations to better understand competencies and their value at the NIH, to learn how to use competency-based tools, and to discover the value of using competencies to promote career development. Additionally, employees will recognize the benefit of discussing career paths with their supervisors, and supervisors will learn tips on coaching their employees through career development.

In addition to these new classes, there is also still availability in a variety of sessions, including “NIH Supervisory Skills”, “Knowledge Management and Strategic Human Capital”, “Giving and Receiving Performance Feedback”, “Scientific and Technical Writing”, “Techniques for Managing Generational Mix at NIH”, “Writing & Managing Executive Correspondence at NIH”, a wide variety of administrative systems, and many others.

All classes are fee-for-service and can be registered for by visiting the NIH Training Center website at http://learningsource.od.nih.gov/. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Training Center at 301.496.6211.
