Great looks and great taste have made this 1962 introduction from Japan a classic for eating. The medium-size fruits have lovely red stripes over a yellow-green skin and sweet, juicy yet crisp, white flesh that keeps well. Early fall ripening. 'Fuji' needs just 350-400 chilling hours, so will grow in parts of California, and does well in traditional Zone 5-6 Apple country as well. Our plant has a semi-dwarf rootstock, which means it will mature at about 80% the size of a standard Apple tree. You'll have plenty of fruit for a family of four if you let the tree self-pollinate, or you can increase fruit production by cross-pollination when you grow 'Yellow Delicious' or 'Red Delicious' as well.
