Snow behind the fence

January 7, 2009

Recent storms that have moved through Northern New Mexico have left several inches of snow as shown in this photo looking north at Technical Area 3. At right is the National Security Sciences Building. Daytime temperatures should be in the mid-40s this week, with low temperatures near 20 degrees. Another chance of snow or rain is forecast this weekend.

Laboratory employees are reminded to call UPDATE at 667-6622 or toll free at 1-877-723-4101 for the latest on the Laboratory's operating status.

Bottom photo: Laboratory employees returning to work Monday saw mountains around Los Alamos wearing a blanket of white from several recent storms. Laboratory meteorologists report that 29 inches of snow fell in Los Alamos in December.
