Sites Offering Academic and Skill Standards
The U.S. Department of Education does not control the contents of the sites
pointed to below. The currency of data, comprehensiveness, and relevancy of the
information on all other site pages are entirely the responsibility of

- Developing Educational Standards points to state standards and related information. Organized by discipline as well as by state, this site is maintained by Charles Hill of Putnam Valley, New York.
- The Eisenhower National Clearinghouse (ENC) Online hosts a dozen sets of state standards as well as the math standards released in 1989 by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the science standards issued in November 1995 by the National Academy of Sciences, and more.
- The Center for Civic Education features curriculum frameworks, standards for civic education, sample lessons, and other documents of use to standards developers for civics.
- ARTSEDGE presents arts standards, information on state projects to develop arts standards, and other information. (Sponsored by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.)

Industry skill standards that have been developed with support from the U.S.
Departments of Labor and Education are available through the
National Skill Standards Board and the
Training Technology Resource
Center, which is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and
Training Administration. Additional skill standards information can be found at
the National Center for
Research in Vocational Education at the University of California at
Berkeley.
- The Mid-Continent Regional Educational Laboratory (McREL) created a compendium of standards and benchmarks for K-12 education (that can be browsed or searched).
- In addition to actual standards, there is a growing collection of documents about standards.
