Community Rules

StumbleUpon's community has developed a set of rules: an etiquette. These rules are intended to make the community a more relaxing and enjoyable place for all of our members. Please respect them, and heed the guidance of our longer-term members, the group owners and moderators, and staff members. Breach of these rules, and failure to adhere to our Terms of Service may result in sanctions being applied to your account, or in its termination.

  1. No mass unsolicited messaging or commercial spamming permitted.
  2. No multiple accounts may be used without permission from StumbleUpon.
  3. You cannot use 3rd party clients or scripts to access StumbleUpon.
  4. No posting illegal, threatening, libelous, or obscene content.
  5. No publication of, or forwarding of private messages (PM's) to 3rd parties without permission.
  6. No posting of another person's personal data, such as contact details.
  7. No impersonating other members.
  8. If you are in dispute with another member, please keep the matter private.
  9. Reviews (or tags) should not be used to level personal attacks on other members - or the owners of, or contributors to the sites reviewed.

Accounts violating these rules, or our Terms of Service, are subject to termination.

When posting to a group forum, please follow these rules:

  1. No off-topic or useless posting
  2. No personal insults towards other stumblers - respond to the issues raised, not to the person.
  3. No posting private messages (without permission)
  4. No naming of names, or otherwise identifying a member when reporting a problem. Discuss the issue, not the person.
  5. No inappropriate profanity (use best judgment)
  6. Post only plain text posts in the core forums, please (except where an image is necessary to illustrate a problem report or solution).
  7. No postings that promote a business, product or service; our members view this as Spam.

Any breach of forum rules, or failure to heed the request of the group owner or appointed moderators, may result in your posts being moderated (note that warning of this will not necessarily be given). If you persist in breaking the rules, your forum privileges may be partially, or wholly and permanently revoked. Please act responsibly!

Note that the core forums, particularly Help, Bugs, and Features may be stringently moderated at times in order to keep the content topical, and easy to follow. Notice will not necessarily be given when posts are hidden.
