Alterra

Alterra is the research institute for our green living environment. We offer a combination of practical and scientific research in a multitude of disciplines related to the green world around us and the sustainable use of our living environment. Flora and fauna, soil, water, the environment, geo-information and remote sensing, landscape and spatial planning, man and society: just a few of the numerous aspects of our green environment that Alterra focuses on.

American Society of Irrigation Consultants (ASIC)

An organization of professionals within the irrigation industry. Founded in 1970 to provide a forum wherein irrigation design professionals can meet to exchange information and advance skills and techniques in irrigation design, installation and product application.

American Water Resources Association (AWRA)

Founded in 1964, the American Water Resources Association is a non-profit professional association dedicated to the advancement of men and women in water resources management, research, and education. AWRA’s membership is multidisciplinary; its diversity is its hallmark. It is the professional home of a wide variety of water resources experts including engineers, educators, foresters, biologists, ecologists, geographers, managers, regulators, hydrologists and attorneys.

Mission: To advance multidisciplinary water resources education, management and research.

American Water Works Association (AWWA)

AWWA is the authoritative resource for safe water, providing knowledge, information and advocacy to improve the quality and supply of water in North America and beyond. AWWA advances public health, safety and welfare by uniting the efforts of the full spectrum of the water community.

Asian Productivity Organization (APO)

The Asian Productivity Organization (APO) was established on 11 May 1961 as a regional intergovernmental organization. Its mission is to contribute to the socioeconomic development of Asia and the Pacific through enhancing productivity. The APO is nonpolitical, nonprofit, and nondiscriminatory.

Building Partnerships for Development in Water and Sanitation

BPD Water and Sanitation is an international cross-sector learning network focused on improving access to safe water and effective sanitation in poor communities.  BPD's primary aims are:

  • To explore through action research the contribution partnerships make to meeting the water and sanitation needs of poor communities;

  • Through direct project-level support, to assist in developing partnerships for the provision of water and sanitation; and

  • By bringing together organisations, to promote constructive dialogue around water and sanitation issues affecting poor communities.

California Farm Water Coalition (CFWC)

The California Farm Water Coalition Board of Directors has identified three primary goals as part of its mission to increase public awareness of agriculture’s use of water and provide a common, unifying voice for agricultural water users.

  • To serve as the voice for agricultural water users.

  • To represent irrigated agriculture in the media.

  • To educate the public about the benefits of irrigated agriculture.

Canada's International Development Research Center (IDRC)

The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) is a Crown corporation created by the Parliament of Canada in 1970 to help developing countries use science and technology to find practical, long-term solutions to the social, economic, and environmental problems they face. Our support is directed toward creating a local research community whose work will build healthier, more equitable, and more prosperous societies.

Canadian Water Resource Association

The Canadian Water Resources Association is a national organization of individuals and organizations interested in the management of Canada's water resources. The membership of the Association is composed of private and public sector water resource professionals including managers, administrators, scientists, academics, students and users. It has following objectives:

  • To stimulate awareness and understanding of Canada's water resources

  • To encourage recognition of the high priority and value of water

  • To provide a forum for the exchange of information and opinion relating to the management of Canada's water

  • To participate with appropriate agencies in international water management activities

Canal-De-Provence
 SCP was created in 1957 by three territorial authorities, Bouches du Rhône and Var County Councils and Marseilles City Council, to bring and distribute water throughout the Provence and Côte d'Azur Region, a major impediment on its development.

Capacity Building for IWRM (Cap-Net)

Cap-Net is an international network for capacity building in IWRM. It is made up of a partnership of autonomous international, regional and national institutions and networks committed to capacity building in the water sector. 

Center for Participatory Learning and Action (IIED)

The International Institute on Environment and Development offers its Participatory Learning and Action Database. "The collection, which includes more than 1,500 documents covering all aspects of participatory  approaches is mainly composed of unpublished literature, and features materials in more than  10 languages."

Center For Water Resources Development And Management (CWRDM)

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life by ensuring water security for all by providing necessary Research and Development inputs, with special emphasis on the humid tropics.

Challenge Program on Water and Food-Sri Lanka (CPWF)

The Challenge Program is working towards achieving:

·         Food security for all at household level

·         Poverty alleviation through increased sustainable livelihoods in rural and peri urban areas

·         Improved health through better nutrition, lower agriculture–related pollution and reduced water-related diseases

·         Environmental security through improved water quality as well as maintenance of water-related ecosystems and biodiversity

China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research (IWHR)

The China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research (IWHR) was established in 1958 by merging three organizations, namely, the Water Resources Research Institute under the Ministry of Water Resources, the Hydropower Research Institute under the Ministry of Electric Power Industry, and the Institute of Hydraulic Research under the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The emphases are being laid on the following research activities: development, utilization and management of water resources, flood control and disaster reduction, water saving technology and engineering measures to ensure high agricultural yield, application of remote sensing technique in the disaster prevention and mitigation, sedimentation problems in rivers and reservoirs, hydraulic problems related to high dams, new structures and new materials for dam construction, foundation and geotechnical problems, aseismatic technology for water projects, new hydro turbines and pumps, automation for power stations and pump system, hydraulic problems arising from cooling water system in thermal and nuclear power plants, ecological and environmental problems related to thermal and water projects, etc.

Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO)

CSIRO, the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation, is Australia's national science agency and one of the largest and most diverse research agencies in the world. Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR)

The CGIAR is a strategic alliance of members, partners and international agricultural centers that mobilizes science to benefit the poor. It includes: Africa Rice Center (WARDA), Bioversity International, CIAT, CIFOR, CIMMYT, CIP, ICARDA, ICRISAT, IFPRI, IITA, ILRI, IRRI, IWMI, World Agroforestry Centre and WorldFish Center,
