What's Happening in the County:

  • County Holiday Office Closure – In observance of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday, most Sacramento County offices will be closed on Monday, January 19. As always, emergency services will be available, and garbage pick-up will continue. All offices will return to their normal business hours on Tuesday, January 20.
  • Building Inspection Offering New Services – Check your building permit status or obtain a permit application online; receive “express service” at a popular Branch Center Road office. For more information, view the website.
  • Sacramento County 2008-09 Final Budget – The Adopted Final Budget for Fiscal Year 2008-09 is now available on the Office of Budget and Debt Management’s website.
  • Sacramento County Puts Information in Your Hands – Check your mailbox or copy of your Sacramento Bee if you’re a subscriber for an insert from Sacramento County outlining important projects, services and referral numbers. You can also get connected with our services and information in the online version of our newsletter.
  • Mather Development Request for Qualifications and Experience – Sacramento County’s Department of Economic Development solicits Statements of Qualifications and Experience for commercial development of real property, access to equity capital for investment in infrastructure, real estate finance, marketing and leasing/sale of real property, an understanding of the base conversion process and economic development goals, and knowledge of local market and economic conditions. In addition, replies to the RFQ must include written responses to questions contained in the RFQ. The selected entity(ies) will be recommended to the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors for invitation to negotiate with the County for Mather properties. Applications must be submitted by 2 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2009. Visit our website for more information.
  • Metropolitan Transportation Plan Available Online – $42 billion worth of planned investments through the year 2035 are included in the new version of the plan, which was approved last year. View the roadmap developed by the Sacramento Area Council of Governments aimed at shaping the region's transportation future on the SACOG website.
  • What should North Watt Corridor look like in 5-20 years? – North Watt Avenue Corridor Plans will be presented for community input on Tuesday, January 27, 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Aerospace Museum of California at 3200 Freedom Park Drive.
