Freely Oriented Portable Superconducting Magnet

Abstract
A high field superconducting magnet which can be operated in any orientation by a single person due to its low weight and size.  The design can accommodate both low and high temperature superconductors.

• Magnetic coupling for machining chucks or specialized lifting devices
• Magnetization of ferritic objects
• Linear actuators
• Portable MRI/NMR for clinics, doctor's office, NDE applications
