Thin-Film Supported Sandwich Assay on Planar Optical Waveguides

Abstract
Invention desribes an alternative method to conventional lab-based ELISA diagnostic assay which is faster and more sensitive.  Can be adapted to optical sensor arrays for simultaneous detection & quantification of multiple proteins.  Can be miniaturized into compact portable system.  Potential use for diagnosis and disease tracking, and for tracking protein concentrations e.g. when culturing microorganisms.
