Adjustable DC and Pulsed Circuit Fault Current Limiter

Abstract
University of California scientists have developed a novel fault current limiter for adjustable DC currents and Pulsed circuits. Fault current limiters react and absorb unanticipated power disturbances when deployed in transmission and distribution systems. Generally speaking fault current limiters are important to the electrical power utilities industry to improve efficiency, protect equipment and ultimately lower the cost of power generation.

Application(s)
Use of fault current limiters can result in improvements to power supply quality, voltage quality, network flexibility, reliability and safety.

Advantages

  • Electrical utilities/ Power generation
