Recovery of Small Molecules from Aqueous Streams

Abstract
Combinatorial process to the development and screening of functional polymers for applications in Polymer Filtration separations technologies, such an approach utilizing a chemical library, target chemistries and analytical techniques to rapidly identify the more promising candidates for further research. The advantages of this invention include the recycling of the capture agents (the polyelectrolytes or water soluble polymers), the variety of small molecules that can be removed, the low energy requirements of the process, the lack of precipitates or biomass generated, and the homogeneous system for the operation of the separations.
