Preparation Of BIS-(1(2)H-Tetrazol-5-Yl)-Amine Monohydrate

Abstract
This invention provides a simplified method of preparing Bis(1(2)H-tetrazol-5-yl)-amine monohydrate (BTAw). The method uses a reduced amount of boric acid. Since boric acid can co-precipitate with the BTAw, this innovation simplifies purification and minimizes BTAw losses.

Application(s)
This invention is useful in the fabrication of Bis(1(2)H-tetrazol-5-yl)-amine monohydrate (BTAw). BTAw can be used as a low-smoke fuel for fireworks.

Advantages
This method for preparing Bis(1(2)H-tetrazol-5-yl)-amine monohydrate (BTAw) produces a higher yield than previous approaches.
