Spiral flow field and bipolar plate for fuel cell stack

Abstract
The present invention provides a method to provide effective fuel and oxidant flow fields and the formation of a bipolar plate in fuel cell stacks. New flow field and stack designs. The belief is that this type of flow field and bipolar plate design is very promising for fuel cell stack, especially for smaller stacks, in terms of achieving Direct methanol Fuel Cells (DMFC), or fuel cell in general, performance and lightweight.

Application(s)
Fuel cell stack applications, especially for applications where smaller fuel cell stack may be needed.

Advantages
Good reactant distributions over the flow of the covered area Better water management High stack packing density Lightweight Amendable for mass production and low cost
