Merrie
Johnson, NAFRI director, presented Jay Perkins with an award for his years
of supporting National-level fire training at the 2008 Rx510 Applied Fire
Effects. Jay was an original member of the faculty that presented the
first Rx510 - Rx540 in those days - in 1997. He presented a lesson on Fire
Management Objectives which is still pertinent in today's course.
Jay joined
the Steering Committee in 2002 and in 2006 took over as the chair.
Jay retired from the Forest Service in early Jan 2008 and agreed to help pass the baton to the new co-chairs Paula Seamon and Berni Bahro.
