Spaceward Bound

Spaceward Bound is still alive and well in the Mojave

Recently I took some teachers out to Zzyzx and the Lava Tubes. We had a wonderful adventure on a beautiful fall Sunday. We took some pictures that I've attached. The teachers returned to their classes with lots of photos, tons of rock samples, a greater understanding of the mechanics of lava tube formation, and the pricelessness of having their own personal experience of climbing down the ladder and crawling into the lava tube. They also have a better understanding of how difficult it could be to find microscopic life in the desert or on Mars....
