Personal Protective Equipment Environmental Test Facility 

Facility Description

The Personal Protective Equipment Environmental Test Facility, which is located at Technical Area 52, building 1, offers users the capabilities they need to develop and evaluate personal protective clothing and equipment.

Equipment

Users of our test facility will have the advantage of state-of-the-art equipment for testing personal protective equipment.

  • Test chambers
    37m3 controlled environment (-30oF~120oF, 10~95%RH) aerosol/gas test chamber
    Two ambient temperature aerosol/gas chambers--one 4 m3 and one 19 m3
  • Wind Tunnel
    0.7 m H x.0.5m W x 18 m L, 610 m/min, wind tunnel
  • Machining and Welding Equipment
  • MAC, PC and Sun computers networked on ethernet
  • IDEAS CAD system
  • Special data acquisition system
    Data acquisition developed in-house, which integrates data acquisition from all chambers
