Pilot Projects
At the City of Rio Rancho, Sandia and Montgomery Watson Harza are investigating the use of wastewater RO concentrate for beneficial uses. Bench scale studies are looking into struvite precipitation and electrolysis to produce hypochlorite disinfectant. A small pilot plant will also test a Kubota membrane bioreactor coupled to a high recovery reverse osmosis pilot plant at the Rio Rancho, New Mexico Wastewater Treatment Plant.
