On Campus Living:

A Splendid Setting for Campus Living

Photo: Laurel Hall

A short, scenic walk from all classes and dining halls, Ramapo College residences are situated along the campus perimeter where beautiful walking trails and woods surround the 300-acre campus. The College has taken great care in the design and placement of the residences: many have beautiful views of the Ramapo Mountains.

Students can select from a range of comfortable and convenient housing at Ramapo. There are traditional suite arrangements, garden-style apartments, and a townhouse complex.*

Unlike many other colleges, all students are welcome to bring cars to campus. For convenience and security, a nighttime campus shuttle stops at all residences, and a local shuttle service runs daily to area businesses, train and bus stations, and malls. There is also frequent bus service between the campus and New York City.

Professional staff and/or graduate Residence Directors live in all halls. The College’s Public Safety force is on duty around the clock, 24/7. Campus Health Services is open during business hours and the College ambulance service, staffed by EMTs, responds to campus emergencies 24 hours a day.

Over 90% of first-year students choose to live on campus at Ramapo. This results in numerous opportunities for members of the entering class to get to know each other, to form study groups, and to find the support needed to make a successful transition to college life. Come join us!

If you have a documented disability and need accommodations for housing please contact the Office Of Specialized Services at 201-684-7514 or you may e-mail oss@ramapo.edu.

* Once assigned, campus housing is guaranteed for all four years as long as the student remains in good academic and social standing, and all outstanding charges are paid. First year students are assigned to the halls reserved especially for them. Students can reserve housing after their first year, according to a system based on the number of credits earned, with those holding more credits receiving priority.
