ERIC DOBYNE

Eric Dobyne was appointed the Chicago Regional Director in September 2003.   During his tenure, the Chicago National Enterprise Center has assisted Minority Businesses in receiving over $650 million in procurement and financial transactions. Since 2003, Mr. Dobyne has advocated for minority business in a multitude of television, radio, and print media appearances, including hosting a weekly television show chronicling minority business news and issues.  In 2004, he testified before the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Small Business.  Mr. Dobyne was named “The 2005 Minority Business Advocate of the Year” by the Wisconsin Supplier Development Council.

 

Mr. Dobyne joined MBDA after a successful private sector career that included various Senior Operations Management roles in the service industry.
Prior to his time in the private sector, Mr. Dobyne served as an Officer in the United States Navy, holding various contract management positions that included: Assistant Officer in Charge of Construction Contracts -
Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Group Leader, Energy Research and Development Laboratory - Tyndall AFB, Florida.    During his service, Mr. Dobyne received numerous awards including: 
Navy Achievement Medal, Navy Unit Commendation Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Coast Guard Special Operation Service Medal, and Joint Expeditionary Medal.

Mr. Dobyne is a native of
 Detroit, Michigan and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Michigan State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School.
