The Writing Center
Our Purpose
The Catawba College Writing Center provides free, one-to-one tutoring to all Catawba students who are working on writing projects. Our undergraduate peer tutors work with writers of all abilities and at every stage of the writing process.
- Don't know where to start? We can help!
- Stuck somewhere in the middle? We can help!
- Want to make sure your paper is polished an ready to turn in? We can help with that, too!
The Writing Center's primary goal is to help students become better writers. Thus, while tutors will offer feedback and strategies to help students improve their writing, students will do the writing and revising themselves.
You can make an appointment by signing up in the Writing Center (Hedrick Administration Building, Room 211). Students who "walk in" may work with a tutor if there are no scheduled appointments.
Both half-hour and hour-long appointments are available. When coming for an appointment, bring a copy of the assignment and any notes or drafts that you have written.
If you cannot come to the writing center when it's open, you can send a draft to a tutor and recieve feedback via email.
Come to ADM 211 and see how we can help you improve your writing! SEE ALSO: Handouts »
