Sleep under the stars in one of over 200 designated campsites in Voyageurs National Park. Be serenaded by loons, and listen for the chance to hear the howl of a wolf.
You need a boat to camp in the park. All campsites are accessible by water only.
A free permit is required for overnight stays in the park. You can get your permit at a park visitor center during regular business hours or self-register at one of the permit stations located near all park boat launch facilities.
Most campsites in the park are available only on a "first-come, first-served" basis, with the exception of two designated group campsites which may be reserved (fee applies).
There are drive-up campsites located just outside of the park at the Woodenfrog and Ash River state forest campgrounds. Call 218-365-7229 for more information.
Camping in Voyageurs National Park is limited to 14 days at a specific site between May 15th and September 15th, and a maximum of 30 days in a calendar year.
