Information Security Standard Practices

Purpose

Mt. San Antonio College collects and maintains a wealth of information. Some of this information is to be guarded, some of it is to be disseminated to the students and surrounding community. Information security involves the protection of information from unauthorized use, disclosure, modification, or destruction, whether accidental or intentional.

The college maintains security documents to ensure proper handling of information while respecting the privacy of students, faculty, and staff. College security documents are originated and maintained to provide clear, definitive procedures and guidelines for all college personnel with access to information. These documents apply to information in written, spoken, or electronic form, and to the entire life of the information, including origination, entry, processing, dissemination, storage, and disposal.

The security documents referenced here are an extension to the Board Policies and the Administrative Procedures Manual.

The Information Security Standard Practices Manual is comprised of the separate and distinct documents listed below. These documents were developed and edited by the members of the Information Security Program Committee at Mt. San Antonio College.

These documents are a work in progress. Please return to this page and re-check these documents periodically. Updates will be made to these documents on an as needed basis.
