CAMPING

Onsite at the Solar Living Institute
Workshop students and volunteers are welcome to camp onsite at the Solar Living Center from April 1 to October 31. All campers are required to call us and register a week in advance, and must complete and return a camping reservation form, including: Parking pass, Camping Pass & Policy Agreement.
Please bring your own camping supplies. Bathrooms with toilets and sinks, an outdoor shower, and kitchen facilities are available. Our interns live onsite, so campers must be respectful and quiet. Please arrive and set up your campsite before 5pm. Recreational vehicles are welcome on a space available basis. Please note that we do not provide hook-ups and have limited parking space. If you would like more information about camping on site, or if you would like to camp here, please call our offices.  *SOLFEST camping is limited to volunteers only.*

Sheldon Creek - 40 minutes from Hopland.   Six tent sites, picnic tables & fire grills. No reservations, no fee. Contact BLM at 707-468-4000.  East from Hopland about 2.5 mi.  Turn right onto Old Toll Rd. and go about 8 mi. (last 5 are gravel) from the turn.

Lake Mendocino/Coyote Dam - 25 minutes north of Solar Living Center.  Over 300 campsites divided into 3 major areas. Prices range from $10 to $22. Group sites (25 or more people) and day lodges available, boat ramp accessible. Mayacamus Trail - 30 minutes north and east of Solar Living Center.   Cow Mountain Recreation Area.  Nine tent sites, piped water, vault toilets, picnic tables, fire grills. No reservations; no fee. Stay limit 14 days. For more information contact Bureau of Land Management at 707-468-4000.

Redwood Empire Fairgrounds RV Park - 20 minutes north of the Solar Living Center.
40 spaces, all have water and electricity, some have sewer. RV $20/night. RV club discounts available. Tent $13.50/night. Stay limit 2 weeks. 1055 N. State St. 707-462-3884 . 

K.O.A. Kampgroud – 15 minutes south of Hopland.  60 acres situated among oaks & pines in hills of No.Sonoma County. Pool, fish pond, miniature golf, store & playground. Tent sites $34+, camping cabins 1 room $58+ and 2 room $68+, RV sites w/full hook ups $38+. All rates are for 2 people and 1 car. Additional people or cars are $7.50. Children under 7 free. Dutcher Creek RV Park and Campground - 15 minutes south of Hopland.  Tent and RV sites available: 25 acres of quiet country in wine country, just one mile off Highway 101, surrounded by trees and nature. Pool, laundry, showers.

Lawson’s Station and Shotgun Restaurant is at the entrance to Mendocino wine country in Hopland, California, and offers seven beautiful spa suites each with over 500 square feet of luxurious space.
