The University Academic Senate and the Executive Committee of the Senate welcomes you to the Faculty Governance Website.

The site is designed to facilitate communication between faculty representatives
in university-wide academic governance and the faculty-at-large. Committee members
are listed in each of its sections and discussion boards allow users to comment on specific proposals and general items of interest to the university and subject to governance review.
To encourage dialog, all GVSU users can read and comment on messages posted on the discussion boards. At the request of governance committee chairs and the senate's executive committee, off campus access to the discussion board has been restricted.

Use the site to see copies of the latest agendas and minutes as they are approved by the committees well as digitized proposals that come before governance. If you have opinions about these matters, let us know what you think.

At the "Home" section you will find the University Academic Senate's Vision, Mission, and Values statements as well as the goals and objectives of its strategic plan.  You will also find the 2007-08 Reports from the University Academic Senate and its standing committees.  The "Governance News" section features short stories about campus and governance developments that may interest you.  The campus community should feel free to submit material of interest to shared governance for posting here.

Please help us keep this site up-dated and accurate.   Regarding any technical problems encountered while using the site, please contact us using the link to the left.
