I find when I am bored I eat. Badly. But when I am involved in an exciting new project that really challenges my intellect then I am "All Systems Go" and eating well and healthily just falls into place, my weight stabilises and I look great and feel great. Weight Loss has its place in Life but only becomes naturally easy when everything else is going well.
It is all too easy to subscribe to the popular view, especially in the corporate world. And then again, do you simply disagree, or do you have a contrasting yet equally valid viewpoint to express? Sometimes when you have a less than convincing alternative solution to offer it is simpler to remain silent. But why not disagree? All you have to offer is a "Because" and you will be contributing!
So true, I agree with you on the goals. I rarely write up resolutions (okay, I never do!) but I do keep a list of things in mind that I want to accomplish, both with my business and in my personal life. Losing weight is never one of them. I wrote a recent post about keeping goals vague, such as staying healthy, exercising regularly, etc, rather than saying "Lose ten pounds" because it is so easy to feel like a failure when you don't hit that magic #.
