Allen Ginsberg Library

The Allen Ginsberg Library is your home library as a Naropa student, faculty member or employee. Our staff will orient you to the information resources available to you (including Norlin Library, the flagship library of the University of Colorado at Boulder) and assist you in your research projects.

We ensure access to the print and electronic reserve materials for your classes. We have a collection of more than 30,000 books, periodicals and audiovisual materials that is designed to comprehensively support the unique focuses of Naropa’s courses of study. We also provide on-site and remote access to a core collection of online databases, full-text journals and finding aids.

If we don't have a book or journal article you need, the Allen Ginsberg Library can borrow the book or have a copy of the article sent from another library through our interlibrary loan service. Our commitment is to connect you with the information you want and need.

We have resumed our regular hours for the spring semester. However, we will be CLOSED on Monday, January 19, in honor of Martin Luther King Day.

Paramita Library Services Desk

The Paramita Library Services Desk has changed its schedule for the spring semester:

Monday, 9 a.m.–2 p.m.
Tuesday, 9 a.m.–12 p.m.
Wednesday, 12 p.m.–5 p.m.
Thursday, 9 a.m.–2 p.m.

Services include:

1. Book Courier: If you need a book from the main library you can now request for it to be delivered to the Paramita Library Services Desk. The library courier will deliver library materials on Mondays and Wednesdays by noon. To request books, simply fill out the Paramita Desk Request Form or stop by the Paramita Library Services Desk.
2. Norlin Vouchers: Come by the Paramita Library Services Desk to get access to University of Colorado libraries.
   
3. Paramita Reserves: Instructors may now request that materials be put on course reserve at the Paramita Library Services Desk (for details please contact tduke@naropa.edu).
4. Interlibrary Loans: To pick up interlibrary loans at the Paramita Library Services Desk, simply indicate pick-up location “Paramita Desk” on the ILL request form. ILLs will be delivered Mondays and Wednesdays by noon.
5. Circulation and General Library Assistance: Return and renew books, pay library bills, place holds and check the status of your library account—the library services desk can assist you with most basic circulation needs.
6. Help Connecting to Databases and Other Research Tools: We can offer assistance with navigating the library catalog, accessing and searching databases, placing interlibrary loan (ILL) requests, and help you find the best tools for your research.

Audiovisual Equipment

Current Naropa faculty, students and staff can borrow audiovisual equipment such as multimedia projectors, laptops, digital voice and video recorders, and more from the library. Alex Melinkoff is available for consultations.

We have a blog where we highlight online resources and news articles that we think will be of interest to the Naropa community. Our blog also has a library news channel, where we will post updates on technical difficulties and library closings, as well as happy news.
