Job Openings

See sidebar for specific job openings.

Lost Valley is looking to fill specific jobs in our non-profit organization. These paid staff positions are open to the public with the hope that staff members will become residents of our community.

A full-time, hourly job here is 30 hours per week. Many of the jobs are part-time, and often people take on more than one job if they want full-time work. There is also some hourly work available throughout the year in our conference center doing cooking, dishwashing, and housekeeping.

Currently, we do not offer health insurance as a group, although some members find ways to obtain partial coverage through various plans. Our other benefits are quite generous, including paid vacations, flexible work schedules, and lots of freedom for initiative and creativity.

We are also open to receiving skilled support on a shorter-term internship basis. If you have strong skills in these areas that you wish to share as a volunteer, please contact our Human Resources Coordinator by e-mail jobs at lostvalley.org or by phone at 541-937-3351 x102.

Availability of pay for jobs at Lost Valley is dependent on many factors within our community and non-profit. Like many non-profits, we have been operating on a shoestring budget. We are always open to fresh ideas and energy in bringing greater financial abundance into our community.

Income generation and budgets within departments, overall community income, and community needs may all factor into our ability to offer pay for positions. Frequently, we can offer the positions listed here at ½ time (15 hours per week) to cover room, board and community fees. Cash salary generation for staff beyond that will depend on the factors mentioned above, and may be up to each program to generate for itself.

Staff positions at Lost Valley Educational Center generally have the same pay scale, which starts at the state minimum wage of $7.95 per hour.  For every year as an employee, one receives an extra 12.5¢ per hour. We have a strong intention to increase our wages and to be able to employ more people to actualize our visions, as we have been doing gradually over the years since we began in 1989.

There's lots of room for entrepreneurial skills and personal micro-enterprise!
