Four paths to education abroad.
Study abroad includes high-quality classroom learning and immersion in a different culture. It's a life-changing academic adventure not to be missed, as you'll see from the Letters Home and Stories Abroad written by WSU students.
Faculty-led programs
Faculty develop and operate study abroad programs specifically designed for Washington State University students. Most are during the summer and range from 10 days to 8 weeks long, although there is a semester-long business program every spring and fall semester, as well as other opportunities.
Exchanges
Exchanges offer full immersion through enrollment at a foreign university for a semester or a year. These opportunities are sponsored by WSU or the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP). Space is limited.
Academic internships
Taking place all over the world, and ranging from 2 weeks in summer, a semester, or a full year, most internships are unpaid. Advantages of academic interships include credit toward your degree, availability of financial aid, and the opportunity to develop a better understanding of the global workplace.
Study abroad programs
Study abroad programs offer students a range of on-site support services including home stay options, excursions, tutorials, and the development of cross-cultural competency essential in a global society. Students can choose from summer, semeseter, and full-year programs. Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.
