This Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) image from April 17, 2002, shows Norway (upper left), Finland (left), and western Russia (center and right). The Barents Sea (top) dips down into western Russia and forms the White Sea, which is still half full of winter sea ice.
