Piedmont Triad region will transform, not just education and workforce development, but the entire regional economy and service delivery system though an innovative strategy that integrates workforce development, education, cluster-focused economic development and entrepreneurship.
There are four goals related to the WIRED Initiative:
Leadership Communication and Regional Integration - Build visionary leadership capacity and the broad community engagement necessary to transform the region's economy and sustain the transformation beyond the three year WIRED project.
Economic Growth and Competitiveness - Accelerate the capacity to create new, high skill, high wage jobs through demand-driven services to targeted industry clusters, and to strengthen the entrepreneurial and innovation culture across the entire region.
Education and Workforce Investment - Leverage all of the region's educational and training resources to transform and create a best-in-class workforce training delivery system.
Project Governance and Administration - Provide project governance, engagement and administration support necessary for successful implementation of WIRED.
Attaining these goals will mold the Piedmont Triad into an economically viable region, making it an international hub for the transportation, advanced manufacturing and bio-medical industries.
