NASA/DFRC intends to purchase the items Foundry Networks. These switches are exact replacements of existing switches and are qualified for flight test. The power/signal interface in the aircraft was designed around the specifications of these switches and the use of other interface cards would require extensive modification which could delay the program schedule and scientific research.

The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.
