NASA/JSC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Center Institutional Safety Services (CISS).
Products and services provided by this contract are required for the safe fulfillment of the Johnson Space Center’s (JSC’s) mission.

Test Safety Support
Fire Protection Systems Maintenance Services
Mishap Investigation
Safety Program Management, Development and Evaluation
Safety Awareness and Motivation
Safety Information Management
NASA Safety Training Center (Agency)
Energy Control Equipment Management
The primary work areas for this contract are aerospace facilities at the NASA Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas, and related operations at Ellington Field (EF), Houston, Texas, and Sonny Carter Training Facility (SCTF), Houston, Texas, which are considered part of JSC. Intermittent support may be required at other sites for which JSC has responsibility such as the Forward Operating Location (FOL), El Paso, Texas; and the White Sands Test Facility, Las Cruces, New Mexico.
The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. See Note 26.
This procurement has been set-aside for eligible 8(a) concerns. Offerors are solicited only from small business concerns expressly certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA) for participation in the SBA's 8(a) Program. See Note 1.
The NAICS Code is 541330, Engineering Services. However, the Military & Aerospace Equipment and Military Weapons exception was implemented increasing the size standard to $25 Million.

The anticipated release date of the final RFP is on or about July 3, 2008, with an anticipated offer due date of on or about August 7, 2008.
