NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a flight cryocooler to provide cooling for a set of Quantum Well Infrared Photodetectors (QWIPs). The scope of work for this procurement entails the Contractor providing the facilities, personnel, services, tools, equipment and materials to deliver the flight cryocooler in accordance with the Statement of Work, Specification and Deliverable Item List and Schedule. These items will be provided with issuance of the RFP.
We anticipate that this procurement will be a full and open competition.
NASA/GSFC anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed-Price type contract for this effort with an anticipated award date of late April 2009.
The Government does not intend to acquire commercial items using FAR Part 12.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this procurement is 332420.
The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about January 5, 2009 with an anticipated offer closing date on or about February 4, 2009. The actual due date for receipt of offers will be stated in the prospective RFP. Upon issuance of the RFP, all qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by this agency.
