Description
 
NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) intends to issue a Request for Proposals (RFP) for Flight Unit Medium Sun Sensors for the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Project. The scope of work for this procurement entails the Contractor providing the facilities, personnel, services, tools, equipment, and materials to deliver the Medium Sun Sensors in accordance with the Statement of Work, Specification, and Deliverable Items List and Schedule. These items will be provided with issuance of the RFP. This procurement will be competed as a total small business set-aside exclusively for 8(a) companies under the Section 8(a) Program. NASA/GSFC anticipates awarding a Firm Fixed-Price type contract for this effort with an anticipated award date on or about January 2009. The Government does not intend to acquire commercial items using FAR Part 12. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this procurement is 541712 with a corresponding size standard in number of employees of 1,000. The anticipated release date of the RFP is on or about October 31, 2008, with an anticipated offer closing date on or about December 1, 2008. The actual due date for receipt of offers will be stated in the prospective RFP. Upon issuance of the RFP, all qualified responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered by this agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed -- see NASA Specific Numbered Note “B”.
