NASA/GSFC has a requirement for the following:
1) P/N: 1000-3019 - Model, Lasermill, demo system; Specifications: selectable laser wavelengths – 532nm and 355nm wavelengths, solid state YAG lasers, regulate the energy density up to 25J/cm2, 1 to 50 Hz – single shot, burst, and continuous laser pulses, able to set the size and shape of cuts via a rotating XY aperture to < 2mm width, class 1 laser system, computer software controlled laser and rotating x-y positioning stage, integrated video microscope for inspection and laser accuracy, able to view the work piece in-process for total control of the machine operation, and import CAD/CAM .dxf files and machine complex patterns; QTY: 1.
2) Installation of Lasermill; QTY: 1.
NASA/GSFC intends to purchase these items from Electro Scientific Industries, Inc.
The authority is FAR 13.106(b)(1) only one source reasonably available.
The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.
DO Rating is DO-C9. This synopsis shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited.

Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
