THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 002 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR VACUUM CHAMBER SYSTEM. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued.

The purpose of this amendment is to answer offeror's questions.

Q1) Specified "inside surface finish" for the vacuum chamber? Will Electro Polishing be required?

A1) Required or better

Q2) What is the minimum pumping speed requirement for the Rotary Turbo pump?

A2) N2: 145 (307) l/sec (cfm) He: 135 (286) H2: 115 (244) or better

Q3) What is the desired voltage for the Rotary Turbo pump?

A3) 110 volts

Q4) Is there a preferred brand for the Rotary Turbo pump?

A4) No. As specified in the solicitation, this solicitation is open to received quotes for “brand name or equal”.

Q5) What is the minimum pumping speed requirement for the Oil free mechanical Rough/backing pump?

A5) 10.6 cfm

Q6) What is the desired voltage for the Oil free mechanical Rough/backing pump?

A6) 110 volts

Q7) Is there a preferred brand for the Oil free mechanical Rough/backing pump?

A7) No

Q8) Is there a preferred brand for the pressure gage controllers, Ion gages and Thermo-couple gages?

A8) No

Q9) Should the 6" CF gate valve be electrically actuated or Pneumatically actuated? Is there a preferred brand for the 6" CF Gate Valve? How many valves are required?
