Description

THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 001 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR VACUUM CHAMBER SYSTEM. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued.

The purpose of this amendment is to answer the following offeror's questions:

Q1) Is there additional information available on this chamber? The information provided is inadequate for a reliable response. For instance, the chamber ID is 11.75 while the OD is 16" Indicating an approximate 2" wall.

A1) ID of chamber wall is 11.75", chamber body OD is 12". Upper and lower flanges are 16" OD

Q2) What is the material of construction?

A2) 304SS

Q3) Reference is to "both" chambers indicating two chambers.

A3) Yes two chambers each with their own pumping system

Q4) Is the 6" feed-through the connection for the 6" turbo pump system?

A4) There are two 6" feed-through on the system, one to the turbo pump, one on the opposite side

Q5) Are the feed-throughs over and above those required for the pumping system?

A5) Yes, as above the 6 2.75" feedthroughs and one 6" feed through are NOT part of the pumping system

Q6) Is the chamber jacketed?

A6) I don't understand the question, no special coatings or shielding required

Q7) Where are the feedthroughs located?

A7) One 6" feedthrough on top, one 6" feedthrough on bottom (pumping), and the 6 2.75" feedthrough located evenly around the sides of the chamber.

Q8) Is this a "Bell Jar" system? Is the chamber horizontal or vertical?

A8) Looking at a service well which could have a "bell jar" put on top, but mostly because that was a standard size that fit our application. Not looking at this time to use a bell jar with this system.

Q9) Is there a sketch or drawing available?

A9) No, there is not.

Q10) Pressure: This is a mostly UHV chamber and pump, except for the top seal- base pressure should be less, clean dry and empty.

A10) This is not a question?

Q11) Feedthroughs: Assume this means 'ports'- There is a single 6"CF on the top, and a second one for the pump- side of chamber or baseplate?

A11) one 6" on top, one 6" on bottom for pumping, 6 2.75" spaced evenly around sides

Q12) (We don't know what you're putting in there!) Do the (6) 2 3/4" CF include the top reducer, and a blank?

A12) Top reducer called out separately from the 6 2.75" blanks

Q13) System-related: No mention of controls, or process internals, so we assume basic, manual control panel with safety interlocks. Is this correct?

A13) Manual control panel not necessary, was not planning on interlocks, but if you want to include them......

Q14) Hoist for chamber/lid?

A14) Not requested.

Q15) Full-size standalone system, e.g. our CV302, or build as tabletop with half rack?

A15) Not sure what the question is?

Q16) Any corrosives/reactives requiring corrosive-series pumps?

A16) No corrosives/reactives to be pumped.

The due date for receipt of offers is not extended.
