PERSONAL DATA: Born May 6, 1966, in Schelkovo, Moscow Region. His parents, Skvortsov Alexander Alexandrovich and Nina Ivanovna, reside in Odessa, Ukraine. Married to Skvortsova (Krasnikova) Elena Georgievna. They have one child. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, volleyball, swimming, tourism, water tourism, parachute jumps, aerobatics, and underwater swimming.

EDUCATION: In 1983 Skvortsov finished high school in Morshansk, Tambov Region. In 1983 he entered the Stavropol Air Force Pilot and Navigator School from which he graduated in 1987. In 1994 Skvortsov entered the Military Red Banner Air Defense Academy from which he graduated in 1997.

EXPERIENCE: After graduation from the pilot school he served in Air Defense as a pilot, senior pilot, aviation brigade commander. He flew L-39, MiG-23 and Su-27 aircraft. Skvortsov has logged around 870 hours of flight time (prior to cosmonaut selection). He is a Class 1 Air Force pilot.

He was selected as a test-cosmonaut candidate of the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center Cosmonaut Office in December of 1997. Skvortsov received qualification of a test-cosmonaut in December, 1999.
