This true-color Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) from August 12, 2002, shows several large fires (red dots) burning in Siberia, north of Lake Baikal (bottom right). West of Baikal, a horseshoe-bend in the Angara River is visible.
