Many storm-damaged trees are worth saving
December's storm events, including snow, ice, rain, and winds, took a heavy toll on many trees in Oregon, but caution is urged when dealing with the storm's aftermath. Two very common mistakes often happen while cleaning up after a severe storm: trying to save trees that were too damaged during the actual storm, and the use of harmful pruning techniques in storm clean-up. Both of these mistakes can lead to future damage and hazardous trees. A certified arborist - even if homeowners and community leaders have to wait for them to become available - can help avoid both of these situations.
