NASA/GRC has a requirement for the purchase of natural gas for the NASA-Glenn Research Center (GRC), located in Cleveland, Ohio and the NASA-Plum Brook Station (PBS), located in Sandusky, Ohio. The GRC is on the East Ohio/Dominion Gas line and uses on average 500,000MCF of gas per year. Included in the 500,000MCF is 280,000MCF for our winter storage program. The selected contractor will be responsible for monitoring the storage program for the GRC. The PBS is on the Columbia Gas line and uses on average 50,000MCF per year. The current GRC contract expires on 3/31/09 and the current PBS contract expires on 9/30/09. The awarded contracts must have effective dates of 4/1/09 for GRC and 10/1/09 for PBS. The contract period of performance will be 12 months from the effective dates of respective contracts. The contracts for this natural gas requirement are being procured through the on-line posting system of World Energy Solutions, located in Dublin, OH 43017. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.
Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred) no later than 1/22/09. It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site for the release of amendments (if any). Potential quoters will be responsible for downloading their own copy of this notice, the on-line RFQ and amendments (if any).
