NASA/KSC plans to issue an Invitation For Bid (IFB) for Lobby Renovations of Hangar AE, PCN 98780.1, at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station (CCAFS), Florida.
The contractor will be expected to providing the labor, equipment, and materials to renovate the lobby and existing airlock of Hangar AE at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida as shown on the contract documents that will be made available when the IFB is released. The disciplines required support site work, concrete, masonry, steel, metals, steel studs, drywall, acoustical ceilings, interior finishes and painting, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fire alarm, fire protection system, doors, windows, food service equipment, and other items identified in the contract documents. The work includes providing demolition of interior components within the hangar and airlock including the existing mezzanine stair. The contractor will provide and install all improvements to the airlock and hangar including exterior siding, entry doors, windows, interior partitions, interior finishes, architectural millwork, steel stairway to the mezzanine, lighting, mechanical HVAC, and plumbing work. Certain kitchen equipment and furniture will be furnished by the government for installation and other pieces are to be provided by the contractor.
The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $500K and $1M and the effort shall be completed within approximately 135 calendar days after notice to proceed
The acquisition will be conducted as a 100% service-disabled veteran-owned small business set-aside. See Note 29. The NAICS code for this procurement is 236220, and the size standard is $33.5 million.
The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about October 14, 2008 with an anticipated closing date on or about November 13, 2008.

All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency.
