Description
 
This is a modification to the synopsis entitled Vacuum Jacketed and Non-Vacuum Jacketed Pipe Spools, NNK08258720Q, which was posted on August 12, 2008. You are notified that the following exceptions/Clarifications are made:

-Section 3.1.5 Inner Pipe Supports -- Calculations showing these loading requirements will be adequate.

-Section 3.1.13 Heat Leak -- Exceeded Maximum Heat Leak Values in Table may be acceptable to the Government. Calculations shall be provided prior to being accepted by Government.

-Section 3.4.7: Vacuum Retention -- Final reading shall be less than 15 microns. (Delete "with no change for the previous 8 readings".)

-Section 4.3: Recommended Manufacturers -- This Section lists only recommended manufacturers. Other manufacturers not on this list shall not be excluded from this solicitation if they meet Section 4.2 Qualification of Manufacturer, or are granted an exemption from the Government provided the manufacturer gives sufficient rationale showing expertise and past experience.

-Section 4.4 Submittals, Paragraph c.: A Non-Disclosure Agreement can be signed, if requested, on Fabrication Drawings.

-Section 4.4 Submittals, Paragraph f.: The piping spools should be analyzed to insure thermal flexibility. The analysis should consider allowable stress levels of materials of fabrication as well as consideration for site conditions, anchors, supports, and interface connections.

The due date for responses is not extended. Any questions regarding the above must be submitted in writing to Jessica.r.paglialonga@nasa.gov. Oral communication will not be excepted.
