Motives for Mentoring ?Two Different Sides

From the mentor’s perspective, mentoring makes good business sense:

1 It increases the revenues and opportunities for business development.
2 It helps develop more competitive and cost-effective suppliers of goods and services.
3 It provides access to markets.
3 It helps them meet subcontracting goals.
3 Ultimately, it contributes to the stability of the protég?firm.
From the protégé’s perspective, motives include:

1 Gaining access to finances, management and technical skills.
2 Greater market exposure.
3 Learning more about the industry.
3 Generally learning about the avenues to success and the pitfalls to avoid.
