NASA/GSFC has a requirement for FRED software that includes the following:
1. Product No. SS200A
SNARE 200 Server (Qty: 1)
2. Product No. SS200-MAN-3
Snare Server Maintenance/Support for one year.(Qty: 1)
3. Product No. SNA-HW
Snare Server Hardware, preloaded with the SNARE Server software. (Qty: 1)
4.Product No. SEA1K+
Upgrade for base model. (Qty: 900)
NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Symtrex Inc. because this is the only provider that is based upon the Open Source software code, and provides the needed security monitoring and secure transfer of data.
The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.
DO Rating is DO-C9. The synopsis shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited.
Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 3:00 p.m. local time on September 3, 2008. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
