NASA/LaRC has a requirement for Three (3) High Speed Digital Pressure Controllers - Two (2) each GE Sensing Model 7250LP (or eqivalent) and One (1) each GE Sensing Model 7250i (or eqivalent). This requirement includes the appropriate Vacuum (Negative Gauge) Mode and Rack Mount Kit for 19 inch EIA cabinets 24 in deep for each controller.
NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from GE Sensing
because the models 7250LP and 7250i meet the configuration of and are compatible with custom software used by Flow Physics and Control Branch (FPCB). The existing Pressure Controllers used at FPCB are used simultaneously and accessed and controlled by a central computer using custom software. The new and existing Pressure Controllers need to be consistently configured so that they can be used simultaneously. Using any other Pressure Controller would require rewriting of existing software code that would jeopardize the working unity of all the Pressure Controllers and would result in additional unnecessary software development expense.
The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.
