Description
 
NASA/GSFC plans to issue a RFP for a Food and Vending Machine Services Concession Agreement.

This notice is issued by the NASA/GSFC to post a synopsis via the internet, and solicit responses from interested parties for a Concessions Agreement with the Goddard Employees Welfare Association (GEWA) for the operation of two (2) cafeterias, a mobile snack bar, and vending food service operations. GEWA is an employee exchange that supports employees of the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), Greenbelt Campus located in Greenbelt, Maryland.

GSFC provides space and earth sciences research, engineering, spacecraft integration and testing, and mission support. On Center are approximately 32 major buildings and 52 smaller buildings which house approximately 12,500 civil servant and contractor employees.

There, the full-service cafeteria (Building 21) is approximately 10,336 square feet with a seating capacity of 402, and the small cafeteria (Building 1) is approximately 5,258 square feet with a seating capacity of approximately 200. The current hours of operation for building 21 cafeteria is 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM, and for building 1, 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM. There are approximately 141 vending machines and 31 microwaves located in 34 buildings throughout the Center and the mobile snack bar which makes approximately 26 stops.

This document is for information and planning purposes and to allow industry the opportunity to verify reasonableness and feasibility of the requirement, as well as promote competition.

Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 12/11/07. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis and/or 8a set-aside. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
