Call for concept ideas

Proposal Deadline: Thursday, January 8, 2008 (deadline extended)

KISS website: http://www.kiss.caltech.edu

The W.M. Keck Institute for Space Studies (KISS) is soliciting concept ideas for large study programs for the academic year 2009-2010. Study program concepts are solicited in any area of space science and engineering, including, but not limited to planetary science, earth remote sensing, astronomy and astrophysics from space, instrumentation for space science missions, and technology for robotic space missions. The goal of the Keck Institute is to develop breakthrough concepts and technical approaches that will significantly impact the course of future space missions.

This solicitation for concept ideas will be followed in January 2009 by a formal solicitation for Large Study Program proposals in specific scientific and technical areas. The selection of these Large Study Program proposal areas will be made by the KISS Steering Committee on the basis of the concepts submitted in response to the solicitation described in this announcement - as well as ideas solicited from the wider community.

Please see this website for more details on how to submit a concept idea to the Institute: http://www.kiss.caltech.edu/large-study/call.html
