ME Promotes Data Uniformity via XML Among Agencies
The Electronics Government Strategies Division of the Office of Government and Technology (ME)
conducted their second in a series of educational courses to assist agencies in applying a leading
practice based on International Standards to the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) Data Reference
Model. Two classes filled quickly. Future classes are anticipated to contribute to the successful

ME Participates in a AFCEA Panel on HSPD 12
ME participated at the December Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association
(AFCEA) Breakfast held on December 16, 2004 which featured a Government panel on the subject
of HSPD-12 and FIPS-201. These are the emerging standards for Personal Identification Verification
for Federal employees. Judith Spencer, from the the Office of Governmentwide Policy, Office of
E-Government, with representatives from NIST, DOD and DHS participated on this panel before an
audience of approximately 250 industry and government personnel. Ms. Spencer discussed the role
the Federal Identity Credentialing Committee will play in assisting agencies with implementation of
