Welcome to the HEASARC's Remote Proposal System
The HEASARC's Remote Proposal System (RPS) is an automated service providing investigators from around the world an easy-to-use facility for submitting proposals in response to NASA Research Announcements. Scientists can conveniently submit proposals using either e-mail or a Web interface.
RPS:
verifies proposal data for completeness and consistency,
enables scientists to store proposal information from session to session before making the final submission,
makes duplicating existing target information easy, and
generates LaTeX versions of the proposal forms.
RPS/WWW Proposal Forms are available for the following missions:
- XTE
- INTEGRAL (via ARK)
NOTE: This is only for budget purposes.
- Suzaku (via ARK)
NOTE: This is only for budget purposes.
- Swift (via ARK)
NOTE: This is only for proposals with targets.
- XMM (via ARK)
NOTE: This is only for budget purposes. XMM stage 1 proposal submission is not supported by the HEASARC.
RPS by E-mail
You can receive instructions for using the e-mail server by sending a blank message to rps@legacy.gsfc.nasa.gov. This is only applicable to Requests for Observation of XTE TOOs. All other missions have been integrated into the HEASARC's Astrophysics Research Knowledgebase (ARK).
Other Information
Interested in establishing RPS at your location?
The RPS Processor is essential for establishing both the e-mail and WWW versions at your site. An Installation Guide is available. It includes detailed instructions on how to build the RPS executables.
RPS/WWW Introduction: Information about setting up your own Web-based RPS, including an install guide and customizing instructions. Includes a table of supported platforms and browsers.
For additional information about using RPS, please contact the RPS Team Leader, Edward J. Sabol (ADNET), via e-mail.
Meet the RPS Team.
